The documentary collection covers the Mediterranean Fleet from 1930 through the approach of the Second World War. Its sections include the Abyssinian crisis, the Spanish Civil War and Nyon agreements, and preparations during 1938-1939. Paul G. Halpern's edited documents make substantial archival material available to readers unable to visit Kew. The contents are strongly recommended, although the expensive volume's physical presentation is criticized.
