Atlantic pressure reshapes Mediterranean carrier deployments

Keeping stronger groups against German raiders changes which carriers can support Force H, Taranto, and the Mediterranean Fleet.

Notes

The larger German surface threat forces Britain to keep more capital ships and carriers near home waters, but it also changes which remaining ships can be risked in the Mediterranean. One possible Force H is built around Courageous and Furious, with Glorious potentially reinforcing Eagle for the Taranto strike. An armoured carrier such as Indomitable might also support the Mediterranean Fleet if the expanded construction programme made one available. These are scenario possibilities rather than claims about the historical deployment, and each trades Atlantic reserve strength for a chance to reduce the Italian fleet sooner. Damaging the Italian threat becomes especially valuable because Britain needs a large rotation pool to guarantee several ships continuously ready against German raiders.
