Hundreds of thousands of troops would require artillery, logistics, cavalry, grenadiers and infantry. Simply increasing the number of riflemen would not create the balanced force envisaged. The French contribution is sketched as roughly two or three corps, each with about three divisions and supporting services. The proposed tasks are to hold the northern border, maintain a mobile reaction force and secure the ports. The corps structure and strengths are estimates for the scenario.
