A strike combines the Mark IX Gate Buster with other systems and causes massive damage to the Replicators. They rebuild and send a Stargate through space, then fire a laser through it at Atlantis. Destroying ships and installations does not end the threat when the enemy can reconstruct them. In this assessment, even extensive damage falls short of the destruction required to stop the Replicators.
