The choice is mission-dependent. A ship focused narrowly on air defence may value Sylver's slightly faster launch performance. Mark 41 benefits from the larger range of weapons integrated by its many user nations, spreading the cost and effort of integration across a wider group of fleets. The preferred launcher therefore follows doctrine and missile inventory as much as the mechanism itself.
