Who represented the powers at the London conference

The treaty's delegate lists reveal the political importance attached to naval limitation and the unusually senior British team sent to negotiate it.

Notes

The treaty names senior civilian and diplomatic representatives from the United States, France, Britain, Italy, and Japan. Britain sent Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald, Foreign Secretary Arthur Henderson, First Lord of the Admiralty Albert Victor Alexander, and Secretary of State for India Wedgwood Benn, backed by naval advisers. France's unstable interwar politics briefly displaced its prime minister during the conference period. Separate representatives also appeared for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Irish Free State, and India. The rank and breadth of the delegations place naval limitation at the centre of interwar diplomacy.
