Léopard arrived off La Réunion in November 1942 carrying 80 soldiers. The landing force took Saint-Denis while the governor withdrew into the island's interior. A coastal battery resisted and exchanged fire with the destroyer, causing deaths on both sides. The island surrendered on 30 November. She then patrolled the Indian Ocean until March 1943.
