A cruiser hull built around missiles

This equipment tour shows how the Kynda combined a cruiser-sized hull and long-range anti-ship missiles with modest air defence, guns, torpedoes, and ASW weapons.

Notes

At roughly 4,400 tons standard and 5,500 tons fully loaded, the class was markedly larger than contemporary Soviet destroyers. Four boilers and two turbines delivered the speed and endurance expected of an ocean-going surface combatant. Two quadruple anti-ship launchers dominated the design, while a Volna air-defence system, twin 76 mm guns, RBU-6000 launchers, torpedoes, and a helicopter deck supplied layered supporting capabilities. The deck lacked a hangar, so aviation support remained limited even though helicopter operations had entered the design. Published figures disagree in places, making this moment more useful for understanding the overall balance of the ship than for memorizing one supposedly definitive fit list.
