Kraken's drone-defence role has limits as a fleet model

Kraken can screen larger ships against drones, but scaling a small craft to carry major-warship sensors, weapons, and power systems turns it into a different vessel.

Notes

The Kraken concept is useful as an outer defensive layer in places such as the Strait of Hormuz. Armed with small missiles, machine guns, or other rapid-fire weapons, it resembles the torpedo-boat destroyer's original answer to a swarm threat. The concept breaks down when every sensor, weapon, laser, and power requirement of a major warship is loaded onto the same small hull. Scaling the craft by a factor of twenty-five would require a new hull rather than an enlarged copy.
