Extra StanFlex positions could widen Knud Rasmussen's escort fit

Prepared additional module positions could support a wider escort fit, with weapon and sonar choices matched to a lower-threat mission.

Notes

Two additional container positions beside the helicopter deck are prepared for installation but are not fitted. Opening those positions could give the Knud Rasmussen class four StanFlex modules and more choices among guns, missiles, and torpedoes. Possible combinations include twelve Sea Sparrow missiles alongside anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons, or a larger air-defense allocation. Towed-array sonar is another module option, and the ships retain a helicopter deck and space for UAVs. The configuration therefore depends on which capabilities the mission requires. Even with extra modules, these ships would remain short of a full frigate and better suited to convoy escort or presence in a lower-threat theater. Their planned rearmament path resembles that of a pre-World War II sloop.
