Kashin combines surface-to-air missiles, torpedo and rocket ASW weapons, and 76 mm guns, with anti-ship missiles fitted to some ships. Nineteen of the twenty-five completed ships enter Soviet service, giving the design enough scale to influence later destroyers. Styx offers roughly 40 kilometers of anti-ship reach, while a later Switchblade fit extends this to about 130 kilometers or 70 nautical miles. These ships provide a template for the later Soviet destroyer, with several combat roles assembled on one hull.
