Kaiyo Maru reconstruction and wreck archaeology

Kaiyo Maru is a reconstruction of a wrecked ship at the Kaiyo Maru Memorial Museum in Hokkaido, Japan. Visitors can walk through the reconstruction and examine archaeological material associated with the wreck. The deck was closed during this rainy visit. Concern about visitors injuring themselves in the wet weather was the suspected reason, although the explanation was unconfirmed.
