Kaba-class destroyers serve from the Indian Ocean to Malta

Kaba-class destroyers operated in the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean, with eight joining Rear Admiral Kozo Sato's force at Malta.

Notes

Kaba-class destroyers operated in both the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean and took part in combat. Eight of the ten arrived at Malta with Rear Admiral Kozo Sato and his flagship, the cruiser Akashi, in April 1917. One destroyer lost 68 of its 92 crew when the Austro-Hungarian submarine U-27 damaged it. Salvage and repair kept the vessel from being counted as lost despite the heavy casualties. The class survived the war, with breaking up taking place after 1931.
