The Jutland Scandal joins two admirals' suppressed criticism

A reissued volume combines John Harper's critical Jutland account with Reginald Bacon's wider challenge to the accepted story.

Notes

Harper's initial report criticized Beatty and, in Clarke's account, was hushed up. Harper then wrote a short book that received little attention. Bacon had pursued his own research and combined his work with Harper's to reach a wider readership, despite further efforts to limit publication and circulation. The 2016 reissue preserves both parts: Harper's The Truth About Jutland and Bacon's The Jutland Scandal.
