Jellicoe's tenure and demands for armour testing

Jellicoe's place at Edward VII's funeral is used to question the idea that demands for stricter trials forced him out of office early.

Notes

Jellicoe's place among the Lords of the Admiralty at Edward VII's funeral in May 1910 is offered as evidence that he remained Third Sea Lord. On that reading, he probably continued until the next appointment in December. His demands for more shell and armour testing would therefore not establish that he was removed early. Reginald Bacon is treated as assisting in the office, with his forthcoming move to Coventry Ordnance Works as further context.
