Jedi Sentinel decline shows how readiness atrophies

The Jedi Order's neglected Sentinel specialism becomes a lesson in preserving recruitment, training, and war-ready expertise during long periods without major conflict.

Notes

The Republic's recent peace does not excuse allowing specialist military capacity to disappear. The Jedi assign commanders broadly once war begins, even though earlier practice had drawn that work from Sentinels trained to seek out dark-side threats and protect the Order. Recruitment and training had failed to sustain that specialism, so the institution could not simply expand it when the crisis arrived. This is a force-planning failure: a security organization that claims to guard against a known danger must maintain the people and skills needed to do so. Peacetime assumptions have hollowed out readiness before the leadership recognizes the cost.
