The fighting continued until some Janissaries exhausted their ammunition and resorted to throwing fruit at their opponents. Enslaved rowers, many of them Greek Orthodox Christians, mutinied aboard Ottoman ships when the opportunity appeared. The Holy League claimed 117 galleys and 20 galliots captured. Rower revolts probably delivered a significant share of those prizes. Labor policy and morale help explain the unexpectedly large number of captured vessels.
