A photograph of Jamaica's six-inch turret crew can initially suggest a spacious compartment. The men shown are serving only one of the three guns. Staffing the other guns brings many more people into the same turret, alongside men handling powder and charges. The crew's anti-flash clothing and the combined handling tasks give a fuller sense of its working conditions.
