The Abyssinian War had consumed Italian logistics, stockpiles, equipment, and the ability to project force. Three more years could allow Italy to replenish those resources and complete ships already being built. The projected battle line combines four Littorio-class ships, including Roma and Impero, with the rebuilt Andrea Doria and Conte di Cavour classes, giving roughly eight capital ships. Smaller warship programmes would also continue. That estimate assumes Italy retains its older ships while waiting for replacements. Shipyard capacity, fuel, and the industrial resources needed to sustain the fleet still limit what those additional hulls can achieve.
