Chapter · 1:48:58-1:49:59

American isolation reshapes Europe as well as the Pacific

The American disengagement scenario changes French influence over Germany and Britain's reliance on regional partners.

Notes

The scenario considers a later American return to diplomacy, possibly through Roosevelt and a naval agreement after the Great Depression. Before that return, France could impose a tougher settlement on Germany without the same American restraint. Britain might leave continental management largely to France and Italy while relying on Japan in East Asia.
