Intercepting missile bombers before the next salvo

A 200 km missile launch range pushes interception outward, while destroying a bomber after launch can still prevent later attacks.

Notes

The navigator prepares and aims the weapon, and the launching aircraft uses its radar to locate and lock onto the target. Kelt then uses its own J-band active radar for the final approach. A 200 km launch range pushes the desired interception line beyond 200 km so the bomber can be attacked before releasing its missiles. Each bomber can carry several weapons, multiplying the targets if it reaches the launch point. It can also return, rearm and launch another salvo. Destroying it after the first launch still prevents those later attacks.
