Radar, guns, and mine warfare must develop together

Balanced research links radar and rangefinding to guns that can exploit their reach, while mine warfare supports Channel control.

Notes

Radar arriving by 1912 is acknowledged as ahistorical, despite changes intended to slow extreme technological leaps. The research program remains balanced because radar and rangefinders offer little advantage without guns that can engage effectively at the ranges those sensors reveal. Detection, fire control, and heavy weapons therefore advance together rather than racing ahead in one category. Minefield technology develops alongside them to support a Channel-denial system in which sensors, gunfire, submarines, and mines reinforce one another.
