The video pauses over a photograph of the starboard side of Repulse’s aft 13.5-inch barbette. The gun breech, with its block removed, can be seen through an opening at the far left, while levers for the barbette’s hydraulic system stand in the foreground. Thin splinter plating enclosed the top of the barbette, and two sighting ports gave the gun crew their view out. A sailor’s head partly visible through the starboard port supplies scale and turns the mechanism from an abstract diagram into a working space.
