The Korean VLS carries Red Shark anti-submarine rockets as well as Hyunmoo-3 conventional land-attack cruise missiles. Hyunmoo-3 is broadly analogous to Tomahawk, with turbofan propulsion and a maximum conventional payload of about 500 kilograms. The first version entered production in 2006, and the 3C had been in production since 2012. The family grew from roughly 500 kilometres to a cited 3,000 kilometres for the 3D variant, with a cited maximum speed of Mach 1.2. One indigenous launcher thus supports both anti-submarine warfare and progressively deeper conventional strike.
