Housing is an early production requirement because the Folktails population grows only when adults have room to reproduce. The number of beds sets an effective population ceiling, which in turn limits how many jobs the settlement can fill. More houses can expand the labour force, but the resulting population must still have enough food and water. The other playable tribe uses breeding pods supplied with berries, so its population depends on a different production arrangement. In either case, growth depends on what the settlement can sustain.

Housing as the ceiling on Timberborn's labour force
Early labour growth depends on housing capacity, while every additional worker also increases the settlement's food and water needs.
