Question

Which had the better career, HMS Starling or HMS Wild Goose?

Short answer

Both were excellent anti-submarine ships, but Starling has a slight edge because of what she accomplished beyond that role.

Notes

Both ships had excellent anti-submarine careers and exemplify the effectiveness of the Black Swan-class escort concept. HMS Starling has a narrow edge because her wider service record adds to that shared specialist success.
