HMS Seal's capture after mine damage

The Grampus-class minelayer HMS Seal entered German hands after mine damage, making her survival a case of capture rather than continued Royal Navy service.

Notes

HMS Seal suffered mine damage and was captured in May 1940. Germany commissioned the disabled submarine for its own service. She was scuttled in May 1945, then raised and scrapped. Her fate shows how a damaged warship could pass into enemy hands as a prize.
