HMS Rutherford's guns and anti-submarine armament

Rutherford carried three 3-inch guns, a twin 40 mm Bofors mounting, up to sixteen 20 mm Oerlikons, Hedgehog, and depth charges.

Notes

Rutherford carried three 3-inch guns, approximately 76 mm in calibre, and one twin 40 mm Bofors mounting. Her 20 mm Oerlikon battery ranged from seven to sixteen guns at different points in her career, with the number increasing as D-Day approached. A Mark 10 Hedgehog anti-submarine mortar and depth charges gave her weapons for attacking submerged targets. This armament combined close-range gun defence with dedicated anti-submarine weapons on a coastal-forces command frigate.
