HMS Revenge as a heavy 74

Revenge's heavier upper-deck guns added 90 pounds to a broadside while retaining a 74-gun rating.

Notes

Revenge was a one-off large 74, armed with 32-pounders below and thirty 24-pounders on the upper gun deck, where an ordinary 74 might carry 18-pounders. Fifteen upper-deck guns fired in each broadside, so replacing fifteen 18-pounders with fifteen 24-pounders added 90 pounds of shot. The heavier battery increased hitting power without increasing the number of guns. Launched in April 1805, she joined Collingwood's column at Trafalgar only months later. She later fought at the Basque Roads in April 1809 and captured a French privateer in 1810.
