HMS Raglan supported the Palestine campaign before Imbros

Raglan bombarded Ottoman positions and supported the Third Battle of Gaza before a sortie found the monitor force without its battleship cover.

Notes

Raglan commissioned in May 1915 and spent its service attacking targets around the Dardanelles and elsewhere in the Eastern Mediterranean. Its heavy guns also supported the Palestine campaign, including the Third Battle of Gaza. Vice-Admiral Hubert von Rebeur-Paschwitz, the German commander of the Ottoman Black Sea Fleet, ordered a sortie against the Aegean Squadron to relieve Allied pressure on Palestine. At the critical moment, HMS Lord Nelson was carrying the squadron commander to Salonika, while HMS Agamemnon was too slow and out of position. Raglan and the smaller M28 were therefore left with only the Acheron-class destroyers HMS Tigress and HMS Lizard when the enemy force emerged from the Dardanelles.
