Paladin's name refers to the knights of Charlemagne. She entered service in May 1916 and spent most of her career with the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla. On 17 November 1917, she escorted the First Battle Squadron, led by Revenge, during the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight. Further duties included working with light cruisers and screening battlecruisers in 1918. Her career was dominated by capital-ship escort work, and she was broken up in 1921 after the same hull-life problems that affected her sisters.
