Nigeria operated with Bedouin, Tartar, and Jupiter during the interception of the German weather ship Lauenburg. High-frequency direction finding located the ship in thick fog northeast of Jan Mayen. Lauenburg's crew abandoned her after coming under fire, allowing a British boarding party to recover codebooks and Enigma material. The capture followed Bulldog's recovery of an Enigma machine from U-110 by only a few weeks.
