Chapter · 12:25-13:32

Minion's Jutland screening and Scandinavian convoy escorts

Minion protected the battle fleet and Scandinavian convoys even though much of her service brought no direct contact with the enemy.

Notes

Minion made an unsuccessful attack on U-48 in the Dover Strait and exercised near the Shetlands. At Jutland she served with the force protecting the Second Battle Squadron, including King George V. Her position prevented her from taking part in the night fighting. A possible sighting of the German Second Scouting Group was only identified after the war through comparison of the ships' tracks. Scandinavian convoy escorts and other duties often brought no contact with the enemy.
