The Acacia-class design called for two 12-pounder guns of 76 mm calibre and two 3-pounders of 47 mm calibre. Foxglove did not necessarily carry that nominal battery throughout her career. At several points she appears to have been fitted with 4-inch guns and additional 3-pounders. The class specification alone cannot establish Foxglove's armament at a particular date.
