Placed in reserve in 1947, Uganda was recalled after the Korean War began. Following refit and modernization, she was relaunched in 1952 as HMCS Quebec. The new name was intended to give the cruiser a clearer Canadian identity and avoid repeating the familiar explanation for the 1945 crew vote. Quebec performed well in Korean War operations, remained in service until 1960, and was then sold for scrap.
