The High Guard organizes much of its combat power around heavy-cruiser battle groups. A Glorious Heritage-class command ship, or sometimes an older Fingers of Dawn cruiser, protects four minimally crewed deep standoff attackers that act as missile farms and avoid close combat. Defensive frigates screen the formation, while long-range surveillance ships supply reconnaissance and targeting and maintenance vessels sustain it. The formation demonstrates that command, strike, escort, information, and logistics must work as a single system.
