Why a torpedo bomber could not simply dive with its heaviest load

Could a torpedo bomber dive with a torpedo or an equally heavy bomb?

Not with the torpedo, and the equally heavy bomb case appears never to have been properly tested.

A viewer asks whether a torpedo bomber could make a dive attack while carrying its torpedo. The weapon could not be delivered that way. A separate question is whether the aircraft could dive with a 1,000-pound bomb or another load equal to the torpedo's weight. Nobody appears to have seriously examined or tested that heavier dive-bombing case.
