The Hasler Series of canoe-marathon races preserves a legacy distinct from the Bordeaux raid and his later yacht technology. His influence extended into modern British canoeing and kayaking culture. The competitions reflect his belief that demanding outdoor activity could help people discover their capabilities. That legacy connects the specialist wartime paddler to the institutions and recreational practices that followed him.
