Harry DeWolf class: a capable hull that could be tougher

The Arctic patrol ships fit their price, but a stronger armament and tougher ice capability would expand their options.

Question

What do you think of the Harry DeWolf class?

Short answer

They are good for their price. Paying more could provide stronger armament and a tougher hull for harsher ice conditions.

Notes

The Harry DeWolf class is judged good for the money spent. A preferred version would keep the basic hull while adding more firepower for a Russian contingency and greater strength for thicker ice. Within the same budget, however, there is no obvious feature to cut in exchange for that armament. Mission assumptions and a fixed price set the boundary of an affordable design.
