Hanequin stops a Castilian ship towing away its prize

A wounded valet cut the larger ship's main-sail halyards, slowing it long enough for other English vessels to recover Robert of Namur's grappled command.

Notes

The last described action began when a large Castilian ship grappled Robert of Namur's vessel and started towing it away. Hanequin, one of Robert's valets, crossed onto the opposing ship rather than waiting for help. He cut the main-sail halyards with his sword, sacrificing the Castilian ship's speed and making continued escape impossible. Although severely wounded, he apparently survived in some accounts. The delay allowed other English ships to catch and take the Castilian vessel. A single attack on sailing gear changed the outcome of this boarding fight.
