Haida's survival feels exceptional because several other Tribals also deserved preservation. Nubian is singled out for her battle honours, Eskimo survived the loss of her bow, and Tartar is remembered as a very good, happy ship. None of those three survived the breakers' yards. Their fate sets the emotional force of seeing Haida against the much larger part of the class preserved only in records and memory.
