Haida and Huron: Trondheim surrender duty and Pacific refit

Haida and Huron's wartime partnership continued through Trondheim surrender duties and preparations for the invasion of Japan.

Notes

Haida and Huron frequently operated together, a partnership that prompts regret that both were not preserved side by side. Their final European duties included entering Trondheim with the Fifth Escort Group and a British ship to receive surrendering U-boats. In June 1945 they returned to Halifax for refits intended to prepare them for the invasion of Japan. Japan surrendered while that work was under way. The same ships therefore moved from European surrender duties into preparations for a campaign that never took place.
