The 10th Destroyer Flotilla carried out Channel and Bay of Biscay sweeps connected with Operation Tunnel, Operation Hostile, and protection of the D-Day landings. Haida and Huron regularly outran the supporting cruisers Black Prince and Bellona to close German forces. Haida helped sink the Elbing-class torpedo boat T29 on the night of 25-26 April. On the night of 28-29 April she drove T27 aground and set it on fire with shelling intended to prevent recovery. MTB 673 also claimed credit, although the preference expressed here is to award the victory to Haida. These operations also included Haida's rescue of sailors from a ship damaged by a torpedo boat.
