Comparing battleships through a simulation's limits

A simulation can compare contemporary gun designs fairly only when its elevation limits affect each design in the same way.

Notes

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts appears to cap gun elevation at roughly 30 degrees, suppressing the full range of weapons designed for higher elevation. That limit still permits like-for-like comparisons between contemporary designs such as Lion and Yamato because it affects both ships. The caveat matters when simulated ranges and outcomes are used for historical analysis. A game can illustrate relative performance without reproducing every ship's real maximum range.
