Fixed ships, submarines, and forts become early guided-bomb targets

Early command-guided bombs would be most threatening to stationary ships, submarines, tanks, and fortifications whose position simplifies precision attack.

Notes

Moving warships under active defensive fire pose a harder guidance problem than targets that cannot rapidly change position. Surprise attacks could use guided bombs against ships or submarines alongside, while parked tanks, pillboxes, and fixed gun positions would offer similarly favorable aim points. The same logic applies to the Maginot Line, where concentrating scarce weapons on a selected group of fort guns might support a direct breach. That possibility does not guarantee a different invasion plan because reliability, accuracy, and available weapon numbers remain uncertain. An anti-ship guidance system could therefore affect land campaigning when aimed at fixed targets.
