In 2020, Grey Goose was the only surviving Steam Gun Boat, although none remained in its wartime form. J. Samuel White built her at Cowes. She was sold around 1957, converted into a houseboat, and moored at Hoo St Werburgh in the Medway district of Kent. Her survival left open the hope that she might someday be restored to her wartime appearance.
