HMS Carysfort attacked and recaptured HMS Castor from her French prize crew on 29 May. Most of Castor's original company was not restored with the hull because the prisoners had already been transferred to Sans Pareil. This frigate action unfolded alongside the larger pursuit and fleet engagements rather than after the campaign had ended. It shows that control of scouts, escorts, and prizes continued to change outside the main line of battle.
