Girona served in a four-galleass Neapolitan squadron

Girona belonged to a four-ship galleass contingent associated with the Fleet of Naples. A Knight of St John commanded it from San Lorenzo, with Girona and two other galleasses completing the specialized squadron. Girona's classification as a more galleon-like galleass helps explain the design differences among the vessels. Together, they employed the hybrid type as an organized fleet capability.
