General-Admiral's specifications and battery

Review the class's displacement, speed, range, gun battery, and five-to-six-inch belt armour.

Notes

The design displaced about 5,031 long tons and measured 285 feet long with a 48-foot beam and a draft of 24 feet 5 inches. Its single compound engine produced a 12-knot maximum speed, while the stated cruising range was 5,900 nautical miles at 10 knots. The complement was 482 officers and crew. The original battery mixed four eight-inch 22-calibre guns with two six-inch 23-calibre weapons and four smaller Engstrom guns. Five to six inches of belt armour and an armoured central battery supplied the protection behind the class's claim to be an early armoured cruiser.
