What the Gannet AEW7 needed beyond the AEW3

Would a Gannet AEW7 design have been more useful than the AEW3?

A little more useful, principally through the radar's power, range, and image detail.

The proposed AEW7 could offer a modest improvement over the AEW3. Radar power and range are the main differences identified, along with the detail of the received image. The size of those improvements remains unquantified.
